The staff at NC Essentials Co has used Stanford d.school's Navigating Ambiguity: Creating Opportunity in a World of Unknowns by Andrea Small & Kelly Schmutte as business and professional development reference. Continuity planning is a highly demanded skill in the resilience industry. Every sector public or private must organize teams and develop processes for navigating disruptions; it is what keeps operations going. It is what keeps our world going. Let's examine the book from a business perspective; there are several unknowns when a disaster, crisis, or emergency has yet to happen. Peers have discussed this book and the insight from various industries has given creative ways to pivot. While planning for an operations to go well, we must use creativity in designing the navigation system for when plans fail. The presentation includes collaboration and insight from two professionals actively contributing in the academia and textiles industries.
