Joshua Barnett is an IT leader with more than 25 years of experience across the automotive, renewable energy, and higher education sectors. At Stanford, he serves in key leadership roles spanning artificial intelligence, security, enterprise architecture, and cross affiliate collaboration initiatives.
As part of Stanford University IT’s AI Catalyst, Joshua has helped lead a range of AI initiatives. Since 2023, he has led several university AI pilots, launched new AI services, and performed in depth risk assessments of emerging AI technologies. He also serves as the technical lead for Stanford’s Affiliate Collaboration Transformation (ACT) program, a multi-year effort focused on improving collaboration, communication, access, and security across Stanford Medicine.
Joshua holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School and regularly contributes to speaking engagements and advisory efforts related to technology strategy, responsible AI adoption, and institutional transformation.
